1749, Aug 12 - Marriage: Jacob Groethaus and Christianity Vanhousen, Trinity Lutheran Church

Excerpt from Debra D. Smith and Frederick S. Weiser, Trinity Lutheran Church Records, Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Page 193:

36. Jacob GROETHAUS, a bachelor from Tulpehocken, and Christianity Van Huse, a single person also from there, both Lutheran, married by a license August 12, 1749.

1) Jacob Greathouse was named as a son/heir in the will of his father, Henry Greathouse of Lancaster County, PA, with John Vanhousen named as an executor. The will of Henry Greathouse was probated in Philadelphia, PA on 28 Feb 1744/5.

2) Before moving to Anson County, NC, John & Elizabeth Vanhousen sold land in Heideberg, Berks County, PA to John Joseph Derr and Henry Boyer in 1753.

3) John & Elizabeth Vanhousen bought land along S. W. Pee Dee River, Anson County, NC, from John & Elizabeth Hall in 1755.

4) Jacob & Christian Vanhousen Greathouse obtained a warrant for land along S. W. Pee Dee River, Anson County, NC, in 1758.

5) Christian Vanhousen [Vanhoesen/Vanhooser/Vanhosen/Vanhousen] was named as a daughter in the will of John Vanhousen, which was recorded in Anson County, NC, on 21 Jan 1762.
