This Indenture Made the Sixteenth Day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and eighty Six Between Harman Gratehouse of Baltimore County in the State of Maryland Yeoman of the one Part and Christopher Yeakly Junior of Germantown Township in the County of Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania of the other Part Whereas Henry Gratehouse late of Lancaster County Yeoman Father of the said Harman Gratehouse by Force and Virtue of some good Consequences or Assurances in Law duly had and executed in his Life time became Lawfully Seized in his Demisne as of Fee of and in a Certain Lot or Piece of Land situated in Springfield Township in the County of Montgomery (late the County of Philadelphia)

Beginning at a Hickory Tree in the Line of Germantown and Springfield Township it being a Corner of Thomas Coombe's Land

thence by the same North forty Degrees Forty minutes East Sixty three Perches

thence by the same North forty Degrees forty minutes East Sixty three Perches and six tenth Parts of a Perch to a Stone

thence North fifty degrees thirty Minutes West fifteen Perches and two tenth Parts of a Perch to another Stone set for a Corner it being also a Corner of the said Christopher Yeakle's other Land

thence by the same South forty Degrees forty minutes West Sixty Two Perches and Six tenth Parts of a Perch to another stone in the aforesaid Germantown Line

thence along the same South fifty Degrees thirty Minutes East fifteen Perches and two tenth Parts of a Perch to the Place of Beginning

Containing Six Acres Be the same more or less, within said Limits And the said Henry Gratehouse being so seized thereof as aforesaid Died having first made his last Will and Testament in Writing bearing Date the third day of January Anno Domini one thousand Seven hundred and forty four wherein and whereby he Willed and Devised the before described Six Acres of Land unto his Wife And with the appurtenances during the Term of her Natural Life and after her Decease to all his Children then living share and share alike to them and to their Heirs and Assigns forever as in and by said last Will and Testament duly proved and remaining in the Register Generals Office at Philadelphia Relation being thereunto had may more fully and at large appear Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Herman Gratehouse the Eldest Son of the said Deceased for and in Consideration of the Sum of Seven Pounds Seven Shilling and Six Pence in Gold and Silver Coin unto him in Hand well and truly paid by the said Christopher Yeakle at and immediately before the Sealing and Delivery hereof the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and thereof and therefrom doth acquit and discharge the said Christopher Yeakle his Heirs and Assigns forever Have granted bargained sold release and confirmed and by these Presents Do grant bargain Sell release and confirm unto the said Christopher Yeakle and to his Heirs and Assigns One Full undivided fifth part of in and to the said above described Lot or Piece of Land Together also with all singular the Buildings Improvements Ways Woods Waters Water Courses Rights Liberties Priveleges Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever unto the said Undivided fifth Part of the said described Lot or Peice of Land belonging or in any wise apportioning and the Reversions and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof To Have and to hold the said Undivided fifth Part of the said described Lot or Piece of Land Hereditaments and Premises hereby granted or mentioned to be granted with the appurtenances unto the said Christopher Yeakle his Heirs and Assigns, To the only proper Use and Behoof of him the said Christopher Yeakle his Heirs, and Assigns forever. Under a proportionable Part of the yearl Quit Rent if any hereafter accruing for or in respect of the hereby granted Premises unto the Chief Lord or Lords of the Fee thereof And the said Herman Gratehouse for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators doth hereby Covenant promise and grant to and with the said Christopher Yeakle his Heirs and Assigns that he the said Harman Gratehouse and his Heirs the said Land and Premises hereby granted or mentioned or to be with Appurtenances unto the said Christopher Yeakle his Heirs and Assigns against him the said Harman Gratehouse and his Heirs and against all and every other Person and Persons whatosever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or an of them, or by from or under the said Henry Gratehouse Deceas'd shall and will Warrant and for ever Defend by the Presents In Witness whereof the said Harman Gratehouse to these Presents hath hereunto set his Hand and Seal Dated the day Year first above written.

Received on the Day of the Date of the within Indenture of the within named Christopher Yeakle the Just and full Sum of Seven Pounds Seven Shillings and Six Pence in Gold and Silver Coins. It being the full Consideration Money within mentioned. I say recevd. for me

The twenty eight Day of September An. Dni. 1786 Before me Henry Sheetz Esquire One of the Justices of the Court of Common Pleas & for the County of Montgomery Personally appeared John Huston one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the within written Indenture who upon his Solemn Oath according to Law did depose Swear and say that he was personaly present and did See the within named Harman Gratehouse sign Seal and as his Act and Deed deliver the within written Incenture for the Uses therein mentioned and that he did also see Wigard Miller the other subscribing Witness to such a Signing Sealing and Delivery subscribe his Name thereunto as a Witness and that the Named John Huston thereunto subscribed is of his the said Deponents Own Hand Writing and further saith not
