1783, May 26 - Land: Herman Greathouse to John Elder, Hermans Valley

Herman Greathouse to John Elder } Deed

Whereas the said Herman Greathouse was heretofore Seized of an indefeasible Estate of Inheritance in ten acres of Land lying and being in Baltimore County Called and known by the named of Hermans Vally and whereas also the said Harman Greathouse on the Twenty sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty three in Consideration of two hundred and fifty five Pounds Current Money of Maryland to him in hand paid by a Certain John Elder of Baltimore County the said Harman Greathouse did by his Certain Obligation in Writing bearing date the day and year aforesaid bind himself to the said John Elder in the penal sum of Five hundred Pounds Conditioned for the Conveyance of the aforesaid ten acres of Land to the said John Elder his heirs and assigns.

1) Deed derived from "1792 - Land: Herman Greathouse to Michael Elder, Hermans Valley".

2) "Indefeasible Estate" defined: A right or interest in real property that cannot be voided, altered, challenged, undone, cancelled, defeated, or annulled.

3) Hermans Valley, located on the south side of Piney Falls, opposite from Marriottsville, MD, was warranted, surveyed and patented to Herman Greathouse in 1760.
